The Pre-inspection step is where we take a deep dive into your rug. We often tell our customers this is where we really “listen to what your rug is telling us.” During this step we are checking all of the following:
And any other information that will tell us the proper procedure for your rugs cleaning.
Dusting the Rug is by far the most important step whenever we clean your rug. Dry soil actually makes up over 70% of all of the dirt we find whenever we clean a rug!
This step should never be done in your home! When done properly in our facility we are able to remove all of the dry soil trapped in your rug in a contained environment. Once it is all removed we are able to move onto the next step, washing your rug.
From top to bottom your rug is cleaned completely through on our wash floor. Each rug is unique and some need different care than others but all of the rugs we wash are cleaned on both the front and back sides. We are able to “flood” your rug to remove even the deepest of trapped dirt, pet urine, body oils, and odors.
Our wash floor is also where we can correct existing dye bleeding or deep stains that need to be “strip” removed.
We get it dry fast! After your rug has been washed and rinsed on our wash floor we roll it and put it into our centrifuge. This machine spins at high speeds, removing 95% of all the water in the rug.
After we remove the rug we “groom” it to remove the rug fibers back to their natural state and then hang it on one of our drying racks to finish air drying. The final result is a completely clean rug, which we wrap and return to you!
The distinction between area rugs and wall-to-wall carpets is very important, especially when it comes to cleaning. Area rugs often demand more detailed care and attention when cleaning vs. wall-to-wall carpeting.
At Around The Clock, we understand this difference and have built a state of the art cleaning facility specifically for Area & Oriental Rug cleaning.
Unlike many carpet cleaners who clean rugs “on-site”, we prefer to take most rugs back to our facility where they can receive the proper care and cleaning methods. These steps are outlined below:
Stain Removal & Protection
Accidents are a part of life, but they don’t have to leave a permanent mark on your rugs, carpets, or upholstery. Whether it’s a creative child using your floor as a canvas, a pet mishap, or a party spill, we’ve seen it all. For years, our customers have trusted us to restore their rugs and carpets to their original glory. Our expert technicians are skilled in identifying and treating a variety of stains, including:
Even if you think “Were going to have to replace this.” call us first! You wont believe what we can “Get out”. We specialize in a wide variety of stain removal processes using advanced techniques and cleaning products tailor made for the rugs specific fibers!
Pet Urine & Odor Removal
Pet-related incidents can be more than just a nuisance; they present unique challenges that require specialized cleaning solutions. Pet urine can cause unhealthy contamination that penetrates deep into the fibers of your rug, reaching all the way to the backing and potentially affecting the floor beneath. These accidents must be sanitized to ensure the safety and health of everyone in your home. Moreover, as pet urine dries, it crystallizes, and these urine crystals can emit unpleasant odors when re-moistened by cleaning efforts or changes in humidity. This is why typical carpet cleaning services often struggle to effectively remove these persistent odors.
At ATC Rug Washing & Specialty Cleaning Services, we’ve mastered the art of pet urine and odor removal. Our full submersion rug washing process is meticulously designed to dissolve and eliminate these odor-causing crystals, leaving your rugs smelling clean and odor fee. We’re so confident in our process that we offer a 100% Odor Removal Guarantee for any pet-stained rug we wash.
Moth Prevention
In years past, rug eating moths were quite common because of the large amount of wool and silk fibers found in most home furnishings. The popularity and widespread use of synthetic fibers has led to the incorrect assumption that damage from moths is no longer an issue.
Clothing moths actively seek out and eat fibers like wool, silk, and human & pet hair fibers. In addition they will also seek out protein substances found on synthetic fibers. This means that rugs and furniture made from nylon, polypropylene, polyester, and other synthetic fibers can harbor these insects if they contain food or beverage stains, blood, urine, perspiration, and other sources of protein for them to eat. This can lead to damage in any rug in your home!
We offer a prevention application that can be applied to your rug after our cleaning process. This is especially critical if you have already found signs of moth damage in your home or you will be storing your carpet somewhere for an extended period of time.
Deodorizing/Sanitizing Services
Leaking pipes, heavy amounts of pet accidents, rainwater flooding, and many other unfortunate events can happen leaving your rug extremely soiled and contaminated to a level that is unsafe to remain in your home. Typically when this happens your rug should be thrown away but in some cases where the rug is a family heirloom, or you have a very strong emotional connection to the piece a restoration cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing may be able to be performed.
Carpet Padding
Carpet padding is essential when laying a rug on certain types of floors or even on top of wall to wall carpeting. The right padding can keep your rug in one place and can prevent your rug from fuzzing and fraying on the edges. This leads to a longer life of your investment.
We custom cut all of our padding 1 inch short around your rug and we offer a wide range of padding options to fit your rugs needs!
We even offer Pet Proof padding to protect your hardwood flooring from any “accidents”
