Rug Washing

Area rugs and wall-to-wall carpets are not the same!

Many area rugs require much more detail and care while cleaning than the other wall-to-wall carpets in your home. Unfortunately, most carpet cleaners do not have the proper knowledge or equipment when cleaning them and many require a much more detailed process.

At Around The Clock we have build a state of the art Area & Oriental Rug cleaning facility. Unlike most in-home carpet cleaners who clean these rugs on site (in their customers home) we take most back to our facility for cleaning where they can have the proper care and cleaning methods performed. These steps are outlined below:

  • Pre-inspection and vacuuming
  • Soaking the carpet
  • Removing any stains or pet odors/urine
  • Applying the right cleaning agents for the specific fibers in the carpet and machine shampooing
  • Rinsing the carpet
  • Drying the carpet in our state-of-the-art centrifuge
  • Grooming the carpet fibers and hanging to finish drying
  • Returning the carpet to you!

Pet Urine & Odor Removal

Unlike other common stains, pet urine and other pet related “accidents” pose some unique challenges when cleaning.  The first issue is that the stain itself causes an unhealthy contamination not only on the surface of your rug but also all the way through to the back of the rug and in many cases onto the floor underneath. These stains need to be sanitized for the safety of everyone in your home.

The second issue is as pet urine dries it turns into “urine crystals”. Each time these crystals are re-wet from either cleaning or changes in humidity they begin to reactivate and give off unpleasant odors. This is why typical in home carpet cleaning companies struggle so much to remove the odors from pet urine and other accidents.

Our full submersion rug washing process is a much more effective way to remove these crystals and odors. In fact it is so effective that we offer a 100% Odor Removal Guarantee from any Pet Stained rug we wash!

Moth Prevention

In years past, rug eating moths were quite common because of the large amount of wool and silk fibers found in most home furnishings. The popularity and widespread use of synthetic fibers has led to the incorrect assumption that damage from moths is no longer an issue.

Clothing months actively seek out and eat fibers like wool, silk, and human & pet hair fibers. In addition they will also seek out protein substances found on synthetic fibers. This means that rugs and furniture made from nylon, polypropelne, polyester, and other synthetic fibers can harbor these insects if they contain food or beverage stains, blood, urine, perspiration, and other sources of protein for them to eat. This can lead to damage in any rug in your home!

We offer a prevention application that can be applied to your rug after our cleaning process. This is especially critical if you have already found signs of moth damage in your home or you will be storing your carpet somewhere for an extended period of time.

Deodorizing/Sanitizing Services

Leaking pipes, heavy amounts of pet accidents, rainwater flooding, and many other unfortunate events can happen leaving your rug extremely soiled and contaminated to a level that is unsafe to remain in your home. Typically when this happens your rug should be thrown away but in some cases where the rug is a family heirloom, or you have a very strong emotional connection to the piece a restoration cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing may be able to be performed.

Carpet Padding

Carpet padding is essential when laying a rug on certain types of floors or even on top of wall to wall carpeting. The right padding can keep your rug in one place and can prevent your rug from fuzzing and fraying on the edges. This leads to a longer life of your investment.

We custom cut all of our padding 1 inch short around your rug and we offer a wide range of padding options to fit your rugs needs!

We even offer Pet Proof padding to protect your hardwood flooring from any “accidents”
